Volmer Family Page

The Volmer family came from a village called Dirkheim in the Kurpfalz region of Hessen Germany before coming to Volmer according to the Original Settlers List.  I have found Dirkheim also written as Duerkheim.

To help with your research I checked all my Census Records for Volmer and found that the Volmer family children, which are listed in the Original Settlers List, are found in Volmer in 1798 as well. The male Volmers all moved, leaving the daughters, who had married with in the colony.

I found in the 1834 Volmer Village Census that one of the sons moved back and died before 1834. There was only one son listed on this census and unfortunately he was listed as having died before 1834.

There are no Volmers listed in the 1850 Volmer Census

To further research this family we must investigate where the other 2 sons moved to:

Peter and Nikolaus both moved to the Semenovka Colony; however I don't see them in the 1834 Semenovka Census.

The only Volmer family descendants left in the Colony Volmer can be found in the Acks Family Tree.
