I am the son of Jacob Blatz and Amelia Prediger. My father, Jacob, came to Saskatchewan from Volmer with his mother (Abel) and his brother Michael and wife Anna Marie. Michael Blatz passed away in the early thirties, and his brother (my father) passed away on Feb 4, 1961 at the age of 55. My mother Amelia passed away on Nov 30, 1999. I am related to many Gartners and mostly to the Stangs. Herman Blatz came over to Canada with some of the Stangs and later married Margaret, the daughter of Peter Stang. Herman was a distant cousin of my father Jacob. I am interested in the early Volmer people.
