Hochstetter (Akhtshteter) Family Page

Family Name In Russian

According to the 1766 Original Settlers List Franz Akhtshteter (Hochstetter?) settled in Volmer on July 18, 1766 at the age of 25.  He was a Catholic farmer listed as being from Wurzburg, Gardheim (Hardheim?).  Traveling with him was his wife, Susanna German (Herman?) age 23, and their daughter; Anna Maria who was 2 years old.

In the 1798 Volmer Census it appears that Franz Achschteter (Hochstater?) has died because his wife Susanna German (Hermann) has remarried.  She married Franz Los (Loos), who is listed as being 60 years old and coming from Schuck (Gryaznovatka).  Susanna has living with her a daughter from her previous marriage.  Rosina is listed as being 6.

Susanna’s 1st daughter is listed as having married Johannes Aur (Sauer).   She is 30, and her husband is 32.  Together they have 4 children.  Nickolaus 5, Michael 3, Peter 1, and Margareta 8.  Also listed as living with them is Anna Maria’s brother Johannes Achschteter (Hochstadter?) who is 12 years old.

We need to get the 1815 Volmer Census in order to figure out where they moved to as I have not found them in either the 1834 or 1850 Volmer Census Documents.
