If we figure this out we can finally link our family trees to the 1850 Volmer Census.

Who are Joseph Roth’s parents?

JOSEPH ROTH SR. b. 1844 in Russia  d. 1920 in Sask.  He married  ANNA MARIA [GRAF] ROTH in Russia and they had 4 children.  *I do not have a birth date for ANNA MARIA who was born in Russia.  She died in 1932 in Sask.

Their 4 children are:

1. KATHERINA ROTH b. 1872 in Russia and married PETER ANKER in Russia.  I do not have a village for the ANKER family.

2. JOSEPH ROTH, JR. b. 1876 in Russia and immigrated to Sask. Canada in 1908.

3. MAGDALENA ROTH b. 1881 in Russia and married ANTON KUDEL in Sask.

4. ANNA MARIA ROTH b. unknown and no other information.  

I recently discovered a ship list with the names of JOSEPH ROTH, SR and FAMILY and JOSEPH ROTH, JR. and FAMILY showing the last place of residence to be VOLLMER, RUSSIA.

The problem I have with the 1850 census is that there are three {3} JOSEPH ROTH' s that were born abt. 1845 and 1846 any of which could have married ANNA MARIA GRAF. 

1. JOSEPH ROTH b. 1845  Parents are JOSEPH ROTH b. 1817 and wife MAGDALENA FROSCHAUR b. 1820

2. JOSEPH ROTH b.  1846 Parents are MICHEAL ROTH b. 1822 and wife MARIA ANNA RAGENGARD b. 1824

3. JOSEPH ROTH b.  1846 Parents are LORENZ ROTH b. 1812 and wife MAGDALENA ACKS [SACKS] b.1815

What I need IS ONE MORE CENSUS AFTER 1850 or clarify who the above Joseph’s married.

When were Joseph Prediger’s parents born?

I have found information supporting the fact that Joseph (b: 1861 Volmer) parents were

Joseph Prediger and Klara Elizabeth Seibel,

but with out the names of their parents or birthdates I can not match this family to the Prediger family in the 1850 or 1834 Volmer Census Documents.

Does anyone know who the following are?

Johannes Sieben, 35

Katherine, 33

I found them listed in the Elis Island Database.  They departed Buenos Aires aboard the SS Verdi, and arrived in New York on March 30, 1913.  The comment was that they were joining father in Saskatchewan.  Also traveling with them was Peter Kolman, 23, wife Elena (Helena) 19, dau Katherina 4months old.  Their comment read: joining friend Henry Sieben in Canada.  Therefore I conclude that Johannes Sieben’s father must be Henry, but which one?

George Rolheiser & Catherine Schamber

George was born in Volmer January 21, 1879. Son of William Rolheiser & Elizabeth Schachtel.

Catherine Schamber was born in Volmer July 15, 1880. Daughter of John Peter Schamber & Anna Mary Kohlman.

George and Catherine and their daughter left Russia on September 28, 1912 and arrived in Grosswerder Saskatchewan Canada on November 10, 1912. Traveling along with them was George’s siblings and parents.
